Head of the Piano Department at Karlstad University/Ingesund School of Music
Artistic Director at Nordic Piano Competition, Glafsfjordens Music Festival and Glafsfjordens Winter Academy
Professor Julia Mustonen-Dahlkvist has brought the Ingesund School of Music onto the international stage by cultivating young pianists into multi prize-winning artists with great career potentials. She has been educated to most of the world's different piano schools, having received degrees from 7 countries, along with an extensive performing experience. This expertise has enabled her to develop young pianists at a striking pace, helping them achieve world recognition very early on in their careers.
The unique environment of Ingesund School of Music, located in Arvika in the middle of the Swedish nature, provides unparalleled conditions of focus, development and in its facilities. Artists have access to concert halls and practicing rooms 24/7 with high-quality instruments at will, with the goal of maximizing every pianist's career potential.
Co-operation with University studies
In cooperation with Karlstad University’s unique expertise and the professors at Ingesund School of Music, the center offers some of the world’s most promising concert pianists a base to develop their artistry in an optimal way.
The Artists in Residence at Ingesund Piano Center are professionally selected through a rigorous audition process at university admissions. After that, a maximum of 12 pianists per year are chosen by the Foundation Committee to join the residency program. They come from all over the world — from Italy and Latvia to Hong Kong and Canada — giving the community a strong ethos of cultural exchange, with all artists striving for artistic excellence.
